Nearby there are boat and helicopter tours, hiking and rafting, are always with the falls in the background. Part of the reserve belongs to Argentina and it is enough to cross the border to discover the charms on the side of the "hermanos" - this is where is the Devil's Throat, one of the most impressive jumps.

The neighboring country is also a trendy area, saving a few dollars to spend on shopping at "Ciudad del Este in Paraguay" just past the Friendship Bridge. Items such as electronics, perfumes are reasonably priced and can be purchased in US dollars or real.

What to see and do in Foz d'Iguaçu

Classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, the Iguaçu Falls are one of the most beautiful tours of Brazil. The national park and its attractions are even more impressive in the months of December and January, when the volume of water is higher. To appreciate the landscapes that spread over an area of 186 hectares, there are "miradors", picturesque alleys. Must see is the Itaipu hydroelectric power station, the largest in the world in activity that can be explored in detail. The visit may continue for purchases of imported products in "Ciudad del Este", Paraguay; and in Puerto Iguazú, Argentina, where are the sumptuous casinos.

On the Brazilian side, the tour is by bus to the picturesque 1200 meter long promenade and breathtaking scenery. Because there are "miradors" - the first, coatis and butterflies share the attention with the "Salto Floriano", to the point where the waters reach a great circulation and come to cause dizziness. In the second, the falls are "descortinadas". In addition to the falls, the park is also home to several species of plants and birds. There are figs, ipés, pines, bromeliads and orchids, as well as toucans, macaws and parrots that give even more color to the landscape.

Argentina Falls

The boundaries of the park extend to Argentina, where are the other 67,000 hectares. There, the means of transport is the train that leads to two circuits - Circuit Low - 1700 meters of sidewalk along the falls at water level; and Superior Circuit - with 650 meters and hanging bridges that reveal a complete picture of all the falls. The two circuits end at the edge of the largest and most exciting waterfall: the Devil's Throat. With 90 meters high, this is one of the postcards on the Argentina side. The Argentinian side is more rustic than the Brazilian side.

When to go to Foz d'Iguaçu

The falls are beautiful all year, but during the spring and summer the volume of water is higher and the trees are in bloom. However, in September and October, it rains a lot. In January and February, the rains are fast. At any time of the year, raincoats are essential for those who do not want to wet their clothes while visiting Iguaçu Park.

Check out the lunar calendar and plan your trip for a date with the full moon, when the Brazilian and Argentinian parks promote the moon on the catwalk overlooking the falls.
